 Importante accordo tra Malta e Italia. Lo Sliema Wanderers del Presidente Keith Perry, il club più titolato della storia maltese, ha raggiunto un accordo con l’equipe del Dott. Franceschi presso il Campus di Trigoria a Roma.Tutto lo staff, i Giocatori e il club dello Sliema saranno strettamente sotto controllo del Dott. Franceschi che ha sposato il progetto e la collaborazione con il club del Pres. Perry. Malta e Italia sempre più vicine anche nello Sport e la Medicina.

Athletesfrom many sports that have suffered major knee injuries over theyears in Italy have turned to Rome , and the renown surgeon ProfessorFrancesco Franceschi. The Same goes for TheNational Football Team’s Midfielder Ayrton Azzopardi who made hisway to Rome to see Franceschi after suffering a debilitating kneeinjury.

His season was cut short when he fell tore his anterior cruciate ligament in Sliema Wanderers’s 2-0 win against St. Andrews Luxol on September 22nd.

The Midfielder travelled on Sunday,December 2nd to Rome with the Team’s General manager Guazzoli Gianfranco and the Physioterapy Manager Paolo Cardinale, to receive the best possible treatment for his injury, visiting Professor Franceschi at the University Campus Bio-Medico to undergo an operation on his left knee.

Professor Franceschi, Chief of the “Upper and Lower limb Surgery” Unit, has vast experience in treating sportsmen and most particularly Italian Football players and athletes. He has performed over 5000 knee operations, including on a number of Serie A stars.

“The operation went well and the midfielder will now continue with his rehabilitation programme” said the Sliema Wanderers’s statement, “The midfielder will come back to Malta today to begin his physiotherapy.
The Great talent’s return to sports activity will be determined by the specialist and is estimated to be in five to six months’ time”.
