Face to face with Mozez Praiz, reference point of SuperSport

Nato e cresciuto a Lagos, primo di nove figli, Mozez frequentò l’Accademia Battista di Lagos, Obanikoro, Lagos. La più antica istituzione accademica della Nigeria e ha giocato per la squadra di calcio della scuola come difensore centrale. Ha quindi proseguito per il Politecnico di Ibadan dove ha letto la Comunicazione di massa. Mozez, tuttavia, non ha provato immediatamente le sue capacità di trasmissione. Si concentra sui media e offre il suo bell’aspetto immacolato come passerella, abbigliamento e modello commerciale.
Mentre eccelleva nel glamour mondo della modellazione, Mozez è entrato a far parte della più grande emittente sportiva africana, SuperSport nel 2005; poi un nuovo business in Nigeria. Ha lavorato come giornalista sul campo in Sudafrica per Supersport su Afcon 2010, trasmissione della Coppa del Mondo Fifa Sudafrica 2010 ed è stato nello studio di Lagos per la Coppa del Mondo U17 Nigeria Fifa 2009 e AFCON 2019, dai Randburg Studios in Sudafrica.
La flessibilità offerta da Mozez Praiz al lavoro ha anche vinto diverse presentazioni come GoTV Boxing Night, Star Super Fans Game show (per birrerie nigeriane), Carnival Calabar, Lagos CountDown Concert …. Alla radio, Mozez è stata l’ancora di Smooth FM spettacolo serale popolare Total Football, in onda sei volte a settimana.
Molte personalità famose tratte da sport, spettacolo, politica, diplomazia e affari. Ha investito nel miglioramento continuo di se stesso. Mozez è stato onorato come giornalista sportivo dell’anno (TV) 2017 dagli illustri Nigeria Sports Awards (gli Oscar della sfera sportiva nigeriana) tra gli altri importanti riconoscimenti. Mozez Praiz è sposato con figli e si reinventa sempre per rimanere rilevante nel regno dello sport.
Mozez Praiz story
At the microphones of SportPaper, Mozez Praiz, one of the big names in Sport in Nigeria, now a reference point for SuperSport. Born and raised in Lagos, the first of nine children, Mozez attended the Baptist Academy of Lagos, Obanikoro, Lagos. Nigeria’s oldest academic institution and played for the school football team as a centre back. He then proceeded to The Polytechnic Ibadan where he read Mass Communication. Mozez did not however try his skills immediately in broadcasting. He in fact focused more on the advertising aspect of the media trade and offered his immaculate good looks as a runway, clothing and commercial model.
Whilst excelling in the glamour world of modelling, Mozez joined Africa’s largest sports broadcaster, SuperSport in 2005; then a fledgling buisness in Nigeria. His first role was as a Production Coordinator, behind the cameras, but there was no hiding place for his innate skills as a presenter.
Yet his big break came in a way he never planned for. South Africa needed his boss, Felix Awogu, to move upstairs as General Manager and leave presentation. It was on the field that Felix, having nursed a plan to change Mozez’s job flow, threw him in at the deep end. What followed were years of success and influence.
From the year 2006, Mozez went on to become one the strong faces of SuperSport. His initial projects included pitch side presentation of games of the Nigerian football league as well as being the pioneer Presenter of the flagship show dedicated to all things Nigerian football, Naija Made. When SuperSport needed to create a weekly multi-sports show that fuses showbiz entertainment, Mozez was seen as the man with the flair needed to push it through. He was thus moved up and has presented over 200 episodes of Africa Sport-On till date, not to talk of the over 600 episodes on Naija Made
Event based presentations have also found Mozez. He worked as field reporter around South Africa for Supersport on Afcon 2010, Fifa World Cup South Africa 2010 broadcast and was in the Lagos studio for Fifa U17 World Cup Nigeria 2009 as well as AFCON 2019, from the Randburg Studios in South Africa.
The flexibility Mozez Praiz brings to the job has also won him varying presentations like GoTV Boxing Night, Star Super Fans Game show (for Nigerian Breweries), Carnival Calabar, Lagos CountDown Concert…. On Radio, Mozez has been the anchor of Smooth FM’s popular evening show Total Football, airing six times a week.
All these shows and events have seen him interview many famous personalities drawn from sports, showbiz, politics, diplomacy and business. Many awards have come his way from the hard work and dedication he has invested into constantly improving himself. Mozez was honoured as Sports Journalist of the Year (TV) 2017 by the illustrious Nigeria Sports Awards (the Oscars of the Nigerian Sports sphere) amongst other major awards. Mozez Praiz is married with children and always reinventing himself to stay relevant in the sporting realm.
